mulching la virgen de guadalupe

I finally planted begonias, which I love!, in front of the house by the azaleas that we put in.

This weekend Celeste brought over a couple truckloads of free mulch (thanks to our downed trees) from the City of Fayetteville. She, Katie, Avery, Patrick and I spent about four hours mulching our various and sundry plant beds. The best part was that as we raked and dug to rearrange, this foot and a half statue surfaced. It may be some saint or another, but I prefer to think it is La Virgen de Guadalupe. Sweet. It reminds me of learning in Latinamerican culture classes that people would think they saw the face of Jesus in a tortilla and then would turn it into a shrine.
