Trip to Dallas

We took a trip to Dallas.

Kyle was happy to be out of the van.

It felt like a real vacation when we ate at Pappasito's. I had the chicken tortilla soup, yum yum. Patrick had fajitas. We got to eat outside with a perfect temperature breeze. They brought tortilla dough for the kids to play with while we waited for food. Such a great night.

Saturday morning we went to the Dallas Zoo.

I just wanted to see giraffes and elephants, and we did.

The above picture shows an albino alligator. It stayed perfectly still, and I thought it was a statue. So creepy.

Saturday afternoon my old roommate Sarah and her husband Tamir watched the kids so Patrick and I could go to the temple. The kids had such fun, getting louder and messier as the weekend went on. Our husbands were good sports, as we stayed up late reminiscing about college days. They moved to the Dallas area in June and offered to let us stay with them. It was fun to see how our lives have unfolded, and how we still have much in common in our attitudes, humor, and families. Thank you guys!

The drive home went great, as Kyle slept for the bulk of it.

What a fun trip! And isn't nice to get to go to the temple with your spouse? And see an old roommate? Glad you had a nice time.

Great pictures! Isn't it amazing how eating out can really make it seem like a vacation. . . especially after a long car ride. I like your van, and the apple on the back window. What a cute family you have!
