At the end of July, I had a friend's wedding to go to, and Patrick was playing a gig, so I took one of my favorite gals, Jeanie, my brother-in-law's girlfriend. After meeting up, we grabbed some sushi downtown, then headed to the wedding at a quaint stone chapel. It's funny how people spoil you when you're pregnant- the chapel was pretty crowded so we were going to climb a steep spiral staircase and sit in a small balcony to watch the ceremony. Every time we approached the stairs, people stopped us. They just saw my pregnant belly and would not let me climb up! Although we really wanted to go in the balcony, it made me feel good to be spoiled a bit.
The night turned out to be really fun. After the wedding, Jeanie and I headed to the coffee shop where Patrick was playing. He finished up pretty quick, and then Max met up with all of us, and they obliged my cravings to EAT MORE SUSHI. We joked that the employees there would think we had been out on the town and picked up some men. (Oh yeah, nine months pregnant, but I've still got it!) So, yes, we went back to Wasabi and ate again. We finished off the night with frozen yogurt. Patrick's mom had the kids so we didn't have to worry about getting home early. It totally felt like we were boyfriend-girlfriend instead of soon-to-be parents of four. Funnest evening I've had in a while :)
Speaking of fun nights, I must note two other fun, albeit unphotographed, nights I had recently. I love it when people can hang out on the spur of the moment. That's how I operate often. So, one Saturday afternoon, I texted Tara, my sis-in-law, and asked if she wanted to go shopping with me. Neither of us particularly enjoy shopping, but she was up for it. Neither of us really found anything either, but it was fun to hang out. Then another Friday night, I went to Mama Carmen's Espresso Cafe, which supports orphans in Guatemala, and played Bananagrams with Katie and Angela and Katie's friend Danielle. Don't worry about all this coffee shop talk: I ordered lavender milk. It was amazing.
