Picture History of December

Happy New Year to all of you! This is just a cute example of how Josie dresses herself.

Josie took this one of me.
She didn't have to hide in the laundry room; I gave her this to lick!

This was before we realized that Kyle's height necessitated pulling pants out of the next bin up (he's in the 90th percentile for height!).

He has always been a happy person. I love it!

Josie went to sleep bear-hugging her pink bunny. She has had this stuffed animal since she was born.
I said goodbye to Katie Walker. She moved to Oregon, but we hope to meet up again when she's in the area to visit her parents.

Simon loves to match Patrick. He calls this his "old navy blue hoodie". (It is gray.)

Simon calls these the matching car pj's. Why is this so adorable?

At Papa and Mimi's on Christmas Eve.

One evening the kids and I spent about half an hour racing cars in the kitchen.

Updates:

Kyle is learning to walk and talk. He is ten months old today. He adds a step every day and is now up to 5. He gets really excited about it and when we tell him to walk, he does it. He also does the "excited" tremble thing that all of our kids were born with. We are trying to teach him to sleep through the night. We may have figured it out.

Simon enjoys helping. He has been a very good cleaner lately and feels proud of himself for these accomplishments. He is learning to enjoy being a big brother and sharing toys with Kyle. I can tell they will be friends. He is one of the "big helpers" in Nursery class at church.

Josie exhibits remarkable wisdom for a four-year old. Or maybe all four year olds have this. We can see why the Lord loves little children so much and tells us to be like them. She made a parallel of Charlie Brown being laughed at for his ideas and a prophet being laughed at when he taught the people. The other day when I was so frustrated at the kids kicking each other and not listening to me, I said, "I don't know what to do." And she said, "Pray." She is excited to be in CTR 4 now at church. She really misses her friends Lily and James who moved last month. She is on the verge of reading!

Patrick finished his first semester of Master's at U of A. He continues to work hard to provide for us and take care of us. He is looking forward to doing a Thrice cover show at a local all-ages venue toward the end of this month. He is a cub scout leader.

I am turning 30 tomorrow! I finally feel like my age. I am taking a step back from busy-ness and very much enjoying young family life. I realize that these little moments won't come again until I hear about them with my grandchildren. The main thing we are working on is reading. These sunny winter days make me look forward to spring when we will plant a garden. I hope we get to play outside a lot.

Nice updates! Oh, that Josie is full of wisdom. What a cute family you have. I'm so glad that you updated with more than just pictures . . . although those are extremely cute. It's fun to hear more too.
Happy Birthday tomorrow!!!
