Our first full day we spent some beach time at Galveston. It had been 16 years since I'd been to the beach! I tried to give the kids a healthy respect (fear) for the power of the waves as we approached. It did not impede the fun-having.
Jill's kids are about a year younger than mine, and they got along great. There was not one problem between families. I'm glad I took them because they occupied each other while we got to catch up.
Jill was an awesome hostess. She escorted me on my first trip to IKEA. So cool. And of course we thrifted where I got a new pair of favorite earrings. We did the park and chilled at her house too. And our last evening there Jill, her husband Lee, and I stayed up late playing games and talking. They dated when we were roommates so I didn't even have to get to know anyone new! Totally comfortable.
I can't wait to see her post with pics from this sweet-looking camera! (hint hint) Let's not wait another seven years to hang out. Love you, Jill!
And a special thanks to Jeanie for spending a total of 16 hours (with only one speeding ticket!) in the car with us. It was great to have some chat time with her. The kids were pretty good for the trip too.
Where should I travel next?

That sounds like an awesome vacation! (And I love those rope climbing playgrounds--we used to live by one.)
Portland?! It's a little far, you are always welcome! I'm jealous of your fun trip-- wish I lived closer. You both look great! Miss you!
