Today we got the news that Patrick passed his Spanish proficiency exam.
He's on to studying German now for that part of the qualifying exams that he'll take in October. He will also be tested in six other areas of music theory. Once he passes those, he will finally be considered a doctoral candidate. The final hurdle is the dissertation, which he's been looking forward to for some time. Then we can finally call him Dr. Sallings.
And, he will be presenting at a guitar conference in Melbourne, Australia this December.
I'm so proud of him for his vision and discipline. With all the pressure of working toward his degree, he manages to be a great husband and father too.
