The Big Texas Sky

See the piece of rainbow?
When we first knew we were moving to Texas, I imagined living in a semi-southwest environment, cactus here and there, etc, but especially with a "big Texas sky." Little did I know, we would experience much more of what Josie first called "raging heat," allergies in sundry seasons, and pests of many varieties. We live right in town, closely surrounded by houses and apartments that usually block our eastern and western views of the glorious sun. (We do feel the sun's effects all day long in the 8-month summers though.)

So, whenever we drive west on FM 2449 or 1173 (that's Texan for highway or county road), I tell the kids to look at the "big Texas sky." I love it!

We went to a friend's house for a birthday party and witnessed the gorgeousness.
